The Illinois Department of Employment Security is committeed to helping you find the job you want and the training you need to get it.
At any of the 60 Illinois Employment and Training Centers and IDES offices across Illinois, you will receive preferential service, as prescribed by federal law. Our staff will place top priority on connecting you with the appropriate job and/or training. In addition to our regular staff, each office has at least one Veterans Employment Representative, a fellow veteran who is an expert on job opportunities in your area.
Our Vet Reps will take a personal interest in you. He or she can provide up-to-date information on laws, rules and regulations concerning your benefits and rights as a veteran.
To find the right job for you, our staff will compare your background against the thousands of job openings in IDES' computer bank or, if you wish, the national files of America's Job Bank. When we find a good match, we'll refer you for an interview.
Our work with veterans is supported by the Veterans Employment and Training Service, an arm of the U.S. Department of Labor. The state and federal governments work together to make sure that no veteran has to go without a job or the training and assistance needed to get that job.
